The Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR) was founded in the academic year (1996/1997). It is emerged from the Faculty of Graduate Studies in 2015 due to the increase in number of proposals funded by the DSR and by the national and international agencies, the increase in published research, and the increase in graduate students at the university.
The DSR is mainly concerned with promoting and supervising research activities at HU. Scientific research is facing major challenges and constraints, which mandate creating appropriate research environment, effective management protocols, and updated legislations and regulations.
On November 2019, UNICEF Jordan Country Office signed an agreement with the Hashmite University to host Bassmati’s Climate and WASH Innovation Hub at the faculty of engineering where DSR oversees the activities of the hub.
The agreement granted benificieries from the hub’s activities direct access to the university’s wide range of facilities and services to support and sponsor innovative people.
